Initial Evaluation

Monday, 13th September 2021

Hello guys! Today is the first day of school. How was your vacation? To start the course you are going to do some entertaining activities to check what you know about the topics of history and geography that we will teach throughout this course.

The first activity that you will carry out as an initial evaluation consists on a brainstorming. Using the Mentimeter application, individually you must write three words that come to mind, one about Al-Andalus, another about the Catholic Monarchs and another about the Spanish golden age. Once you have sent it, we will check on the digital board which are the words that are repeated the most.

The second activity consists of grouping words into three groups (people and population / how economy works / money and business). With this activity you can get an idea about what you will learn in this course about these topics. Click on the image below to access to the activity:

With the third activity we are going to see what do you know about the history in 19th and 20th century in Spain. You have to help the frog to jump all the water lilies by correctly answering the questions about the 19th and 20th century.

Finally, to find out what you know about the geography of Spain, Europe and the European Union, we are going to do a Kahoot! In total there are 10 multiple choice and true and false questions.

Hello boys and girls ! We have reached the end! To check that you remember the information that we have given in this unit, you must make a conceptual map with everything you remember from the different contents. You can do it manually (on a piece of paper) or do it online on the Canva or Genially website.

Hello ! We have reached the end of unit 2! To check that you remember the information we have given in this unit, we are going to play a game. 

This consists of a roulette that has the different contents of the unit. Divided into 5 groups, you will spin the wheel and on the content that touches, you must answer a question that the teacher will ask you. You will be graded based on the number of questions you answer correctly, so the grade will be for all the members of your group.

Final Task Unit 3

Hello everyone ! We have reached the end of unit 3! To check that you remember the information we have given in this unit, you are going to make a timeline. This activity is similar to the one you did with my daughter. 

Individually and using an A3 size paper, you must expose the important events and dates that we have seen in this unit. In addition, under your timeline you must write what each of these events consists of. Be careful with cleanliness and orthography!

To assess you, I will again use the unit 1 assessment rubric. Good luck and stay focused!

Good morning guys! Today we are going to do the final task of this unit in order to check that you have understood all the contents. You will have to do a presentation in which you have to portray a population pyramid of one of the province of Spain, the one you want. Then, you will have to investigate about the most significant events that justify the data collected in the pyramid. Finally, you will have to expose it to the rest of the class. In the presentation of your projects I will take into account the following aspects. I will evaluate each one from 1 to 5 depending on the degree of satisfaction (1 is the lowest and 5 is the highest).

Good morning guys! Today we are going to do the final task of this unit in order to check that you have understood all the contents. As you know, the products that arrive at our homes and at our tables must go through a series of stages, in which the main objective is to ensure a healthy product free of bacteria and microorganisms. In groups of 3-4 people, you will have to choose a product and design a comic in which you show how it passes through the different economic sectors to finally consume them.

In the presentation of your comics I will take into account the following aspects. I will evaluate each one from 1 to 5 depending on the degree of satisfaction (1 is the lowest and 5 is the highest).

Good morning guys! Today we are going to do the final task of this unit in order to check that you have understood all the contents. As you remember, you did a great job setting up your business. Today, we are going to put in practice how you approach the businesses of your classmates and make purchases. But, first, what do we need to buy? Well, money! You will have to create your own money with paper and colors.

Ok! Now you are ready! Take into account the roles that you assigned when you made the list with the preparations. Some of the members of your group will have to be the sellers, while others will go shopping to the rest of the businesses. When you finish shopping, you can change the roles. Have fun guys!

At the end of the class, you will carry out a co-evaluation, a method to evaluate your peers. I will ask you a series of questions that you will have to answer according to the work done by your classmates.

• Do you think your classmates have set up a good business?
• Are the prices of the products adequate?
• What would you improve about their business?

Final Task Unit 1

Hi guys! As I told you the last day, you had to bring the following materials to do our mystery activity. You already know that I don't like exams, that's why we're going to do… THE RELIEF OF SPAIN. 

It seems very difficult but it is not because we are going to work in pairs. As you know, we have seen the main units of the relief and we are going to capture it in 3D.
As an extra note, with the blue plasticine we can place the rivers, I'm sure there will be super colorful and very cool jobs!

First of all, we are going to trace our map of the country on the cardboard. To do this we are going to paste a sheet of the map of Spain that I am going to give to each group on the cardboard and you, with a round tip pen, go over it and we will see when we remove the paper, that the map has been reflected in the paperboard.

 

Next, the part that we like the most: using the clay! We are filling the map with green color and we are adding yellow color for more elevation. Once created, we create our mountains in brown, with white plasticine on top, simulating snow.

 

To finish, we place the name of the mountains with a toothpick and a piece of paper.

Happy Wednesday guys! As I told you last week, today we will present our tourist route through the various natural parks in Europe. I am very much looking forward to seeing them!

As we will surely have plenty of time, to further reinforce our knowledge we will have a debate on these topics:

• Do you think that tourism is one of the human activities that endangers the conservation of the natural environment? Why? Give examples.

• Do you think ecological tourism can be an alternative? Why? How is it different from mass tourism?

• Propose different ways of spending your holidays that are respectful of nature.

Surely we see a lot of variety and we learn from each other. Here is the rubric I will use to assess them.

To know everything you have learned new, you are going to do a time line with the most important dates and characters we have seen in this unit. To do this you can use only the works that you have done. So, in the same groups that you worked, you have to do it.

You can choose between doing it by hand or online. To do this, you can use applications such as:

GOOD MORNING GUYS!!

Please, cloose your books and notebooks and pay attention to the following instructions!

Today is the test with which to evaluate the knowledge that you have been acquiring during the agenda.

The test will consist of answering some questions with the plickers application. It's very simple, each of you will have a card with a bidi code, each side of the card has a letter (4 sides, 4 letters). Each card has your name engraved, so the application will know who is answering each question. I will put the questions with different options on the board, at the count of three everyone must raise the plickers with the side that corresponds to the letter that you think is the correct answer, I will pass the phone to each one of you who will pick up the answer that you have put and your name and the answer will appear on the board in green or red depending on what you have answered. We have a total of 14 questions. You know you must have at least 7 good to pass.

GOOD MONDAY STUDENTS!!

For today's activity, we are going to work as a group as usual. Each group will have a computer where they will have to work with the genially page since each group will have to create a game with questions based on the summary we did yesterday.

 The game must have 10 questions. Once you have finished the game, you will exchange it with your partners and make another group's game. For each correct question you will get one point.

Hi guys! Today is the last day we work on the last unit. But don't worry, next week we're going to do a really cool workshop!

As you know, each group will present their work today to the whole class about a country of the European Union. I hope that you explain all the sections that I told you, and in case you don't remember, I'll repeat them: culture, health, education, economy and flag. You have about 5-10 minutes to explain it.

The resource you have created is sure to be very original and entertaining!

For this work we are going to use the same rubric that my son Antonio had created.
